Greenberg Joseph School Reviews

My son is in 5th grade,Greeberg is the best school in the the whole world,I love the principle,She is the best.

teachers are excellent tons of activities and sports and afterschool activities i love it

I have three children in Greenberg and for the most part am very pleased with the school. I do have to agree with the child who spoke about the lunch program which I heard is unedible. Also the lunch staff can be a little more tolerant with the children. As far as academic the school is like no other and i believe my 7th grader will be prepared for high school when he graduates. I think though we need to keep up the work being done so this unique school does not become like some of the public schools in the city.

Academically, Greenberg exceeds almost all of the Philadelphia public, private, and parochial schools. Greenberg competes with the suburban schools with testing scores. Students are ready for high school upon leaving Greenberg. The teachers are challenging with students, yet compassionate. Kids learn in a safe environment, and problems are addressed immediately. My two children attend Greenberg, and another child went through Greenberg and is now an academic scholar in college. Cons: The admin staff lack strong leadership from the principal. No real afterschool or enrichment activities. MG program is political and serves only the lobbyist parents. HSA is clique-ish but they do help the school.

The teaching staff for Greenberg is amazing, and pull miracles out of their pockets daily. However, with the recent addition of a new principal, Greenberg begins to falter. The school cafeteria lunch is extremly distasteful. Some of the lunch helpers are ignorant, and the school itself is dirty. However, school is to become educated, and Greenberg is still top dog in this category. As a matter of fact, I scored almost a perfect score on my PSSAs thanks to my great teachers. In conclusion, Greenberg is a great school for the education, but in five years or so, the school will deteriorate and become another 'school'

I have two children at Greenberg. We have been actively involved in their education for 8 years. I have always found the teaching staff excellent, however, the leadership and support staff is particularly horrible. There is daily confrontational behaviors by those in charge, no conflict resolution efforts between students and quiet pacifying of concerned parents. Things have changed over the years and even those who have stuck it out are deciding to move out of the district. An effective principle would turn the school around.

Good, quality programs. Lots of extracurriculars now available this school year. Parents heavily involved.

I had gone to Greenberg from K-8th grade. I am now at Central High school in Phila, PA. Greenberg is a great school but the only thing I did not like was that there were not sport teams, or anything to that extent. I was always known as 'teachers pet' for every teacher in the school new me, even if i never had them. My best memories are from Greenberg and I will always have them!

The major concern that I had with this school is that there is not a sufficient number of 5th grade teachers to accomodate the number of 5th grade students. overall most of the experienced teachers are exceptional and are very patient with the students.
