Whittier John G School Reviews

my child had went to whittier for 2 years the principal is very rude and the school needs to get enough supplies for everyone plus i also think that they do not challenge the children at all thats why i put my children in st.martin de porres catholic school

I find a large part of the staff very helpful and dedicated to the success of the students however the principal is very unhelpful and at times rude. Other than that our experience has been great

My son went there for k. He is doing well and is ready to go to first grade but only with the help of Mrs. Degain. She was his teacher and she did a very good job with him. He is reading and doing a little math even. The principle is not very pleasant and the staff is very stressed. My wife and I had to stay on top of my son's progress. We were up there at least 2x a week just to let them know that we care. Out of 4 k classes we received the best teacher from what the counselor says so that doesn't say much for the school. It is a neighborhood school and if you have to send your child there, please don't let the learning and the teaching stop at 3:09.

Last school year was the first year my son attended Whittier. Our experience was good and he will be returning this September '2006. However, I do not think that the students are being academically challenged. The students are not equipped to compete among other students in his or her same grade level. We need to improve in this area so our students can be competitive.

My son has attended for two years. The teachers are very capable and caring, however the school has not met the needs of the children academically. More leadership is needed and more dedication by administration.
