Chestnutwold Elementary School Reviews

An excellent elementary school. Principle is motivated to serve the families and meet the children's needs. I have 3 children in this school, they are unique in their academic strenths and weeknesses. They entered in 1st, 3rd and 4th grades. The staff helped my younger child when she had difficulty learning to read she is now in third grade and scores top in reading. My middle child came from a private school in the area and he is receiving much better instruction in writing at Chestnutwold than what was given at the private school. The oldest is now in 6th grade at Haverford middle schoool He spent a year at Coopertown before the redistricting. The principle at Coopertown is not as good as Mr. B . In our experience Chestnutwold is a very welcoming school with a small town atmosphere, the top elementary school in the district.

This school is truly awful. Rudeness is prevalent, lots of staff are rude to kids. The quality of education is barely there. Kids learn very little, the principal supports low standards and rude atmosphere in the school.

We are so fortunate to be a part of this school! It is a caring oasis of good behavior, excited teachers and down-to-earth, involved parents. We recently were comparing notes with parents at other schools and realized again what a special place this public school is.

The principal, Mr. Bickhart, is wonderful! He truly loves each child. This is a new school, taking kids from two different elementaries, and he has facilitated a smooth and happy transition. Parent involvement is high and my son loves it here.

This is the nicest, most caring school you could hope to imagine your child going to. We are fortunate that our sons have had the opportunity of attending. The principal and faculty are of the highest quality. They don't just do their job, they CARE about the kids and how they are doing not just intellectually, but emotionally. This will be my last year after 15 years being connected to this 'Gem of a school' as it is known around here, and we will truly miss it.

I have never had so many individuals care so much about my child. From Mr. Bickhart on down, they are an incredible group of educators!!
