The school has truly grown into a close knit community. I am proud to say I was and still am a Tartan. Even though the school is very well put together, it does not seem like there are too many kids getting into IV league colleges. I feel Highland is a good school. I was offered many opportunities to expand my education (honors classes, dual credit programs) that have definitely enhanced my college experience as well as made high school more memorable. The staff is great, and students who excel are rewarded with the Renaissance program. However, as with all schools dealing with teenagers, there should be more programs or people skilled to deal with typical adolescent social problems. I reached out to guidance counselers and teachers more than once and was never really given help. Overall though ~a positive high school experience.”
