Agnes Irwin School Reviews

An Agnes Irwin education comes with an expensive price tag, but I can say it's well worth it. Most of the teachers come from top-notch colleges and have lots of experience in their field. The girls are well-prepared by the school for college and their future careers. Agnes Irwin makes girls strong both mentally and physically.

My daughter has attended this school since kindergarten and she will be graduating this year. This school challenges girls to succeed and prepares them to become leaders. Most of her teachers have doctorate degrees and they all enjoy teaching these girls. The school prepares them for college by training them to be active learners and giving them an environment in which participation is the norm. This school is strong in languages, in the arts and offers extracurricular like robotics and fencing among others. The SSP program offers the girls the opportunity to live abroad for two weeks or to explore an area of interest locally. The parents are very involved but it is up to them to make the effort if they want to feel included. My daughter got into her first choice college and leaves the school bilingual. Agnes Irwin has prepared her for the university and her life after.

Agnes Irwin students are bright, spirited, and confident. In nearly 10 years at Irwin's, I have found the quality, enthusiasm, and passion of students at Agnes Irwin second to none. They make it worth coming to work every day. Our environment is one that is accepting and inclusive of all students. We are a community, a team. We work together to provide students with a rigorous curriculum, yet understand that educating the whole student goes beyond the classroom, preparing students to enrich the world in which they live. I'm excited and thrilled to be a part of this outstanding school!

Attending Agnes Irwin for my daughter has been both challenging and rewarding. The girls get a bit more homework than the average student, but that's to be expected with a rigorous curriculum. As a parent not from the Main Line, I do feel that the 'Main Line Parent' group is very exclusive and at times, may not be accepting to people of a different socio-economic background. The girls, however, do not reflect their parents in this case so my daughter does not feel excluded.

My daughter is currently a student here and i can honestly say that she has developed into a confident, capable and academically well-round young lady. AIS as a whole is a great school. The only CONS that I have are that the parent gatherings and events which the parents are invited to aren't very inclusive if you are from a different background than the majority of the school students. I do not think the students exibit this behavior, just the parents.

I graduated from Irwin's in 2004. I'd say the quality of eduation is excellent. They offer a rigorous and challenging course load, and it pays off- I was admitted to two ivy league school among other top universities. The only complaint that I have is that there can be too much parental involvement. Sometimes the parents were so involved that the school seemed to be treated like their social scene. And I can't say if this has changed, but the students and parents were not very welcoming of those who are not from the Main Line.

Excellent school for girls. Girls face tasks that prepare them for a role in leadership. Some faculty, however, may not be as capable as they might be. Music is average. Theater average. Your paying for the environment.

It is a gem of an institution. Responsible for raising confident, accomplished women, aware and extremely capable of leading on the global stage. Truly a fabulous educational institution.

Each young lady can truly develp the knowledge and skills on how to learn, and acquire the underpinning scholarship to achieve personal goals. There is no 'back row' at Irwin's. This is truly an exceptional educational institution.
