“I was in this school since i was 6 years old and love it and next year is my last year i am in 8th. The teachers are great i will miss one alot because she mad me feel like she was my second mom. The only thing i dont like is the infractions i dont really get any bit we never use to have that book but then we did sooo. I will miss the school alot. Bring your kids hear nfcs has alot of activities school work and more....”

“I have been a student at New Foundations Charter School since it opened in 1999. I started as the first kindergarten class ever and now I am in 7th grade. I have nothing but nice things to say about this school. The teachers are the nicest people you will ever meet and the staff in general is wonderful. Our school has so much to offer! Lately we have been doing some construction to make out school ever better and expand it even more. We will be adding another 3rd through 8th grades. “This year I graduated from New Foundations Charter School. I attended the school since 2nd grade, the year it opened. NFCS is a fantastic school. The teachers and faculty are great. They were always willing to help you, not only with school work but also if you just needed someone to talk to. Over the past seven years, I was able to experience things that I would not have in any public school. I traveled to New Mexico for the National Service Learning Conference and visited a homeless shelter with the Service Learning Council. I was apart of the Odyssey of the Mind Team which this year traveled to Altoona, PA to compete. I was able to become apart of a Video Production team and now I hope to major in editing and film making. I am going to miss New Foundations so much!”

“my daughter attended nfcs when it began. she started in middle school. her 3 years were the most wonderful experiences she had there. she would not be the person she is today if it was not for nfcs. she is now a junior in high school. the academices were fine. she was one of the first group of students to attend the national service learning convention in minnesota. it was an experience that i as well as my daughter will never forget. the teachers are all wonderful and are there for your children if they need additonal help. The small class sizes are a plus as well. parent involvement could have been better, but whatever time you can donate to the school is helpful. if you are considering nfcs for your child, i can assure you that you will not be making a mistake.”

“I would rate NFCS #1 in the Philadelphia school district. It is one of the best places for any child. It is a wonderful, caring and discipline environment. Since moving my child to NFCS, my child has become a more enthusiastic and focus student, her grades are at the top. She enjoys school and look forward to it daily. Her projects and extra curriculum activities have been a delightful part of her task each day. The staff at NFCS is doing a remarkable job!”

“Great school. Very organized and communciation levels are excellent. Academic programs are good. Music, art sports and extra curricular activies are all available. Parents are involved, 20 hours volunteer time per child required.”

“LOVE this school. We have three children here and have been here since it's inception. Lot's of opportunity for community involvement and an emphasis on being responsible, caring citizens. They offer inclusive education rather than 'programs' for children with differing abilities to learn. Each child has an individual learning plan developed by parents, student and teacher. Strengths are emphasized. In areas needing improvement, strategies are developed to assist the child in learning the best way for that particular child. Although not obligated to provide for mentally gifted children, along with the Individual Learning Plan, NFCS uses the Odyssey of the Mind as an afterschool program. This school has lots of opportunity for extra-curricular activities including things like band and sports. Music, art and gym are part of the curriculum. Also offered are electives such as Spanish, sign language, choir etc. Did I say we love it here?”

“My opinion of NFCS is low due to the fact that they do not have any programs for mentally gifted students in place. Their idea of a sufficient program is called 'Odyssey of the Mind', which is essentially, an after school program that can be cut at any time due to budgetary restrictions. My son's grades decreased as a result of going to this school. They failed to even have an adequate library system in place at the beginning of the 2003-2004 school year. They also failed to abide by a parent's wishes to be contacted immediately in the event there was a problem concerning the student.”

“I not only had a child in this school but I also worked as a lunchmom for the past three years. We have since moved to New Jersey and all I know is that I have made some wonderful friends with both the parents and staff at New Foundations. I will miss you guys very very much! “This school is great all the way around. I have 2 children in there now and I couldn't ask for anything better. Love the fact that any parent that wants to go on trips or help out with the kids needs a criminal background check!! Have to say this school is a much better place then the Philadelphia public school system!!”
