Renaissance Advantage Charter School Reviews

I graduated 8th grade from R.A.C.S and it was the best 4 years of my life. I am now about to graduate from high school and I credit most of the things I do to R.A.C.S. Til this day I still refer people to my school.

I say my children had out of 3 years 1 good teacher that showed they were caring, teaching respect and leaning little past basics.

I am very happy to say that this is my daughters 2nd year at RACS. I have to be truthful in the begining there was a lot of confusion with what teacher the class will have, after 2 teachers. I would say they had a great teacher assigned after that. I would'nt be so quick to blame the school. Parent Particapation plays a big part in school. The expectations of the school is for the students to work hard which in turns requires the parents to also.Staying involved and continuing to be involved made a difference. She has had Spanish, advance math, and reads above her grade level. She enjoys this school very much and we look forward to her finishing out the entire school program up to the 8th grade.

My two sons have been attending renaissance for 4 years . The school was great until they received a new principle. 2006-2007 was the worst because of the principal

This school is absolutely incredible! My child has been here for three years and has made incredible advancements. The administration is very responsive to parent feedback and is constantly trying to find ways to improve the learning environment. The teachers and staff are well qualified and very caring. Every parent is encouraged to become an active member of their child's learning community. If they choose not to care, it's not the school's fault. This is a school, not a daycare or extended babysitter. Given the challeneges of the Philadelphia School District and Philadelphia in general, RACS should be a model for the rest of the school district. Safety is also of great concern, especially with the problems in Philadelphia lately. Thank you RACS!

My son started this school in kindergarden. He is in the second grade now. He has been doing a fantastic job here. He was on the honor roll through kindergarden and first grade. I believe with the parents involvement with the school the learning experience would be better. This year I also transfered my daughter there from public school. Since she has been in the school she has been a B and C student. Where as, she was in public school she was a C and D student. I found that the school did a great turn around on her. I do not know what problems she was having, but her skills became extremely better. The school does need to put in teachers that are better qualified to work with the kids, but until then parent involvement will help a lot.

My daughter attends this school and has been for the past 3 years. In the begining (3rd grade) the school had better teachers (qualified) and more academic programs. Now, this school has basically resulted to the NTA teaching students. I feel they do not encourage these children to their fullest potential. They have no extended curriculum (i.e Spanish, etc) It seems like they have a teacher in the beginning of the school year and then they leave. This is her last year. I can not take it anymore. I think for a charter eucation, this school is one of the worst.

Overall, I think this school is great. We have been a part of this school for three years. Hopefully with my daughter starting kindergarten in september we will be here for many more years

The Administration at this school is horrible. They definitely need to shut this school down. I believe they are passing our children just to remain open. The curriculum is aweful!

I switched my children from the school they were in because I was looking for a school that offered a great academic program and extra curriculum activites. This school is horrible and will not be open for long. They have a after school program that only has space for 200 students, but you have over a thousand kids in this school. They advertised the school so good, that I was convinced. I pick up my kids 30 minutes late everyday because they didn't get in after care.
