Universal Institute Charter School Reviews

I have an 12 year old that is now in the 7th grade and another in the first grade this year so far My girls have been improving to me with their grades and attitude expecially my 7th grader she have improve a whole lot this year I'am so proud of her she has been frustrated and not being able to consentrate on her work and I think that she has miss alot of good information last year but now I can tell that she is getting more professional help this year and my 1st grader is just the beggining for her but she is no sweat she will do wonderful too! I'm a hard working mother of three and reliable and encourage my girls everyday to take your time in the work that they do and strive for the best and they will acheive!!!!

I feel when it comes to awarding students especially on graduation that they are not fair to all students especially when your not of the right faith of the Leader of the school

my child has been going to UICS for 9 years so far. She's now in the 8th grade. I love this school so much. And now my 5 year old son goes there. Their currculim is great. The teachers are awesome. I love the school so much. The school is in a great area and everything. I told all my friends about UICS and they even applied there children there. The school is great.

My son has been there since grade k he is now in the forth grade. The school is always growing and doing new things to keep the parents in touch with their child's learning. My daughter went there also. She did not do as well as my son. However they worked with her. She did not stay in the school because she had discipline problems but they did their best while she was there and referred her to a school that would be appropriate. I love that there are culturally competent and that they do not show any favor based of their own religion beliefs. Education is education and business is business.

This is my childrens first year at UICS, I like the school overall, I love there style of teaching, the projects the teachers give are interesting. Ms. Jordan (kindergarten teacher) was an excellent teacher. She did so many fun and exciting things for the kids. My children will definitely stay for some more years But there is one dowfall; The lunchroom in the morning when you drop off your kids is very unorganized. There are so many kids in the hall and in the entrance of the school instead of in the cafeteria. I just hope they find a solution for the morning cafeteria.

UICS is an excellent school. My son is in the 8th grade and has been a student at UICS since 1st grade. The education he receives is outstanding. I can't believe it! He loves math and literacy and can't stop taking about how great and helpful his teachers are. My son used to hate school. Thanks UICS staff especially the 8th grade teachers for making my son love school and believing in him as much as I do. I am sorry to see him graduate. Thanks again!

This is my daughters 1st yr at UICS and all I can say is I love it. Not only do I feel its safe because there are guards outside at all times during school hours but the staff is absolutely wonderful. My daughters teacher is Ms Jordan and she is wonderful. My daughter loves her class and I think that she really takes her time and works with the children. I just hope that my daughter will remain at this school until 8th grade. Maybe by that time they'll have a High school..I hope...GREAT SCHOOL..Lastly I think its great that classes such as music, science, computers and art are offered at such a young age

My daughter is in the pre-K class and it is excellent. I love the teacher s they are doing a wonderful lob. I hope they will be there for years to come.

My son has been in UICS since the 2nd grade. I can see the change in his education from his prior school. The thing I love the most is that the teachers seem to really care about the information they are feeding to these children. I like the male appearence in the school, I like the way they respond to the children, and I love the fact that my child is learning all the thing to help him to be a well rounded personand a good student. Continue the great Job

I think that UICS was a great school. I think that the teachers were nice. The only thing I didn't like like was that we didn't switch classes. But other that that I think Ms.Welcome was a great Vice Principal.I loved Bro.Khalid. I enjoyed Universal a lot.

The quality of learning improves each year. Parent involvement is welcomed. There are plenty of extracurricular activities available. I would recommend this school to anyone.

This is a great school. Good for children with special needs.

Universal provides a structural enviroment for some children who don't recieve it at home. Every time I enter the school corridor I feel positive energy. Everyone at Universal is adamant about the children education. And most of all Mrs. Purnell was my sons favorite teacher. It has been two years since he has been in her class but he always says she was his favorite, and mine too!

I have two children attending UICS. So far they haven't missed a day of school and their learning has improved tremendously. I love the teacher/student ratio and I think there are only more great things to come. I hope UICS gets the funding needed to get the other schools planned to get built. It's too bad UICS didn't come along sooner, but now that it is here I'm going to spread the word about it. If more parents took the time to care what their children were learning they would care enough to send their children to one of the best schools in South Philadelphia. Because I'm a single parent and work I don't have the time to spend around the school like I want to, but when I am there I am pleased with what I see. Good luck and much success.

My name is Ms.Bishop and i have a child at the school i have only have one thing to say about the school. Ms. Braxton is a very well educated teacher. She is very helpful with the children and you can see that she loves children and education is very important to her.
