Richard Allen Preparatory Charter School Reviews

I have two children that graduated and one whom is just starting. i think this is a great school with an excellent curriculum. they are organized and very discipline. i can review my childs daily activies in realtime on the web. the only issue is the cost of the uniforms . i believe the person who decied to enforce these particular uniforms has not considered the fact of parents being in a recession as well. Flynn & Ohara are expensive to start but when you are giving us no alternatives to save money that is rediculous. i understand purchasing the embroidered sweaters and vest, but to enforce the skirts and dress pants come from there which are about $40.00 that is an issue. what about parents that have 4 and 5 kids in the same home or have gotten laid off.

The school lacks structure, discipline, organization and leadership. They don't have a parent teacher association in place. The children eat lunch too late. The secretary looks unprofessional and the children are out of control before and afterschool. I would not recommend u send your child here. It can possibly be a good school if they work out the kinks it will take a few years before they are ready to run a exceptional school they are a work in progress.

In response to a teacher's comment about classes being over crowded-THAT IS NOT TURE! The classes don't have more than ~20 students per class. With any school, there is room for improvement but I do feel they have made a positive impact on the students and the community. The 'Growing Minds' gardening program just won a substantial grant to continue their community work. It is a relatively new school and I do feel your child will get a better education here than in other neighboring schools.

Good school. They provide training and support. Leadership needs to be consistent, but teachers are supported have tools to teach.

Poor leadership. School cares about money coming in. Teachers left to fend for themselves with little to no support.

Poorly managed school. Administration is inconsistant. Their main concerns are money and test scores. When teachers are out they simply split up the class and they waste a day. Admin is disrespectful to staff, and kids are disrespectful to staff. Over-crowded and violent. Do not work here!

Very good school, clean, nice staff and the atmosphere is very different from a puplic school. Mot a lot of riff raff. I love it! Classes are not over crowded at all. Great!

This school is poor. Classes are huge - not enough desks for 32 kids, scores are low, management is inconsistent, don't even think of working there let alone having your child attend. Pick elsewhere.
