Jack loved to fish on the lake. He would fish often. A Great Blue Heron soon discovered that, if she hung around Jack awhile, he would eventually catch a fish and toss it to her. Free lunch! Jack grew fond of this heron and named her "Lilly". Then Jack moved to a different house, about a hundred-fifty miles away. Lilly, being a creature living in the wild, was left behind.
This painting was painted for Jack.
