“Subway”
Private collection of Dr. Andrew and Marjie Lewis Quint (see Margie’s artwork at www.hellophiladelphia.com/art/MarjieQuint.Cfm). This piece is the “poster child” for distraction. On a day promised to life’s mundane chores (this days task was to assemble the new computer chair and finally empty the large box sitting in the living room), a beautiful chunk of packing cardboard fell to the floor…. Instantly, little squished human beings formed before my eyes. Task of the day being long forgotten, “Subway” emerged, giving faces to the tourist, the late night jazz player and small children riding mass transit.
