Morimoto: Fine Japanese Cuisine in Philadelphia

Feb 7, 2010

Few restaurants compare with the chicness of Morimoto Japanese Restaurant in Philadelphia. Not only is the food a work of art-- the entire restaurant is, too. Elaborate (and ever-changing) lighting schemes and a contemporary atmosphere that is unmatched by any other eatery in Philly.

If you're looking for a restaurant that will impress your in-laws or a new date, you won't be disappointed in Morimoto. The facility is guaranteed to deliver, both aesthetically and culinarily.

Start your Morimoto experience by ordering the delicious yellowtail tartare with caviar and fresh wasabi, sesame chicken in sesame sauce or carpaccio (choose whitefish, octopus or beef) with Yuzo soy and mitsuba leaf.

For your main entree, try the "Duck Duck Duck"-- a madras roasted duck breast with confit risotto, duck egg and mandarin oolong reduction; black cod miso with miso mustard; Sugi-Ita salmon with maple-shiitake broth and an organic egg; or the Madri Shioyaki-- a whole grilled sea bream with spicy ponzu and miso.

If sushi is your weakness, you're in luck. Choose from items like spicy tuna, smoked salmon, California, shrimp tempura, Shiitake mushroom and soft shell crab. Sashimi is also available.

A raw bar featuring market and Kumamoto oysters and King crab is on hand for seafood lovers.

Reservation are always helpful at Morimoto, especially on busy weekends. To make reservations, call (215) 413-9070. Business dress is required.
