George Servais's Bio

Geos interest in art came after a series of debilitating injuries. Disabled as a firefighter, due to contact with a 7,000 volt power line during a rescue attempt, he tried almost every sort of job imaginable. All had an creative bent to them. Still there  was relatively little interest in painting until he damaged his neck and needed surgery. During his recovery something clicked inside and he began to study art. Through books, videos, courses and hours upon hours of long study and practice he became proficient in several mediums and settled into acrylics.

Geez!!!! Sounds more like a perverse eulogy than a Bio, doesn't it?

" Nothing brings us closer to the creator than being creative. My work as an artist allows me to travel to places I may never see. With my painting I can go anywhere in the world at least for a little while. I can preserve what someday may be lost. I can make the not so beautiful, beautiful.  With my art I can evoke emotion in the viewer. Every painting gets my heart and soul and yes, even my DNA becomes part of the painting. I deal directly with my customers and very often do composites from photos they provide. There is no greater pleasure I can derive than to watch their eyes when presented with their piece.
